All statuses of the military deployed to border

As of Monday, the U.S. Department of Defense have begun deploying all statuses of the military including active duty personnel, the reserve, along with more National Guard troops to the port of entries.

Since April, National Guard Troops have been assisting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), all along the border and for the most part, assisting in surveillance and support.

While most National Guard members have been staying at hotels throughout the Valley, it’s different with active duty personnel present as we may see camp sites going up.

"If active duty is deployed then they would be on bases in the field, like tent cities and things like that, that would be typical,” said Mark Murray, political science professor at South Texas College (STC).

“However, it's kind of confusing because it's not typically done within the borders of our country, so that makes a difference."

The initiative is all part of Operation Faithful Patriot, which Murray said is designed to help Border Patrol in the event of large numbers of immigrants trying to cross the border.

At the border, the military will be assisting CBP with transporting personnel, unified command posts or housing and providing personal protection equipment like helmets, shin guards and shields.

While Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) is in favor of this aspect of the administrations initiative, other congressmen are completely against it.

In a statement, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) said, "Utilizing active-duty military personnel as a short-term border security solution is a complete and unnecessary waste of federal resources. The administration should demand that Mexico and Central American countries do more to deter future irregular migration patterns like this."

Like Gonzalez, Congressman Filemon Vela (D-TX) believes it's a political move.

In a statement, Vela said, "Instead, this is a simple political ploy orchestrated by President Trump to create a false sense of hysteria in an effort to appease his white nationalist supporters."

At this time, the Department of Defense plans to send about 5,200 troops along the southwest border by next week.

However, they are working with CBP and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to determine where these troops will be stationed.

I hope they are able to interview these asylum liars...ask for their "Burden of Proof" for asylum.

If they have no proof...they are immediately SENT back over the 1st border they illegally crossed...Mexico!
