The American Freedom Riders returned to Cave Creek in larger numbers on Saturday to help wipe out illegal employment practices, especially those sponsored by Good Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church through its illegal alien day labor center..

CAVE CREEK, Arizona – The American Freedom Riders (AFR) returned to town on Saturday in larger numbers and with some locals joining in to help eliminate what lures illegal aliens to Cave Creek and educate those who engage in illegal hiring practices about the free SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) Program. The holiday may have contributed to this week’s success at deterring illegal hiring, but the AFR say they’ll keep coming back until locals or law enforcement take over.

According to AFR co-founder Danny Smith, business owners that don’t utilize the SAVE Program may also be unintentionally facilitating other crimes such as identity theft and Social Security Number fraud.

However, what the group finds most offensive is the Good Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church’s day labor center, where Fr. Glenn Jenks openly supports harboring, aiding and abetting illegal aliens and facilitating illegal employment services for those who employ them.

Anyone picking up illegal aliens at the church may be unaware they are committing a federal offence simply by transporting them in their vehicle.

AFR co-founder Rusty Childress believes churches and other nonprofit organizations facilitating illegal activity should have their nonprofit charters revoked, which is something the group has discussed pursuing.

Right before shutting down for the day, a man driving a Chevy Venture (360-HDN) pulled in. He chatted with Jenks at length as seven illegals boarded his van.

The man shook hands with Jenks and smiled as he left the church parking lot with his illegal human cargo and no month tag on his license plate to go with the 2006 expiration sticker.

After breakfast at Harold’s, the AFR headed out for its second mission of the day, and met up with members of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens (MAIA) to hold a counter protest to Salvador Reza’s organized band of illegal aliens who were protesting at 3425 E. Thomas Road in front of M.D. Pruitt’s Fine Home Furnishings, a family owned and operated business since the 1950s.

Goose-stepping Alfredo Gutierrez, former state senator, led a group of Salvador Reza’s protesters along Thomas Road on Saturday, while clapping his hands and chanting, “Wo, wo, wo. Wo, wo, wo.”

The area has been infested with illegal aliens seeking work who scare away customers from local businesses as they swarm vehicles pulling into their parking lots.

With manpower stretched thin due to the Baseline killer and higher priorities, the Phoenix Police Department has been unable to provide extra patrols in the neighborhood.

The city recommended, as an alternative, hiring off-duty officers to patrol their community. A group of business owners agreed to chip in for the off-duty officer patrols.

And that’s what Reza was protesting. One of his protesters’ signs said, “Phoenix Police should not serve the interests of a vigilante.” Other signs, translated from Spanish, included, “Messrs.

Policemen – We are not delinquents – We only want to work – No to racism,” and “We are not terrorists, we are workers.” One sign translated, “The respect of foreign rights is the peace,” while another protester held up a sign in English that said, “What is you don’t understand about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?”

Meanwhile, a counterprotester’s sign read, “Solamente Ingles (English only)!! Speak English or pay for your own interpreter!” Even though the day labor center run by Reza off Cave Creek and Bell roads is a dismal failure, Reza’s solution to the problem is to build another day labor center in the Thomas neighborhood.

Reza’s protesters taunted some of the counter-protesters with, “Go back to Europa,” and things got a little testy for a few moments.

Reza’s protest included former state Senator Alfredo Gutierrez who began clapping his hands and yelling “Wo, wo, wo. Wo, wo, wo,” as he goose-stepped along Thomas as the leader of a small brigade of illegals while another man made gang signs as he chanted in Spanish, “We live here and we’re not leaving.” Reza vows to protest Pruitt’s every Saturday through Christmas.

Meanwhile, Reza’s nonprofit organization Tonatierra, just received a $50,000 grant from the Public Welfare Foundation, a D.C.-based nonprofit that will keep Reza’s financially strapped day labor center afloat through August 2007.

Quoting Reza, the Associated Press article wrote, “They saw we were making a difference in the Palomino neighborhood.” Childress says Reza’s work center has made a difference all right, but not in a positive way.

The AFR left Reza’s protest to head out to the FIRE (Federal Immigration Reform and Enforcement) Coalition and MAIA’s Operation Body Count presentation, occurring simultaneously at state capitols across the nation, to illustrate the daily loss of American lives at the hands of illegal aliens.

Statistically, 25 Americans die every day at the hands of illegal aliens. To put that into perspective, more people die at the hands of illegal aliens every year than the combination of all the victims of the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon, the first World Trade Center bombing, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Persian Gulf War, the USS Cole Attack, the U.S. Embassy bombings worldwide, the victims that died in both World Trade Center bombings, at the Pentagon and the brave men and women of Flight 93.

Operation Body Count was presented by Childress, as the grim reaper, Buffalo Rick Galeenler, as the town crier, and MAIA founder Michelle Dallacroce representing the grieving family of the victims, with individual attendees representing 25 named victims by age and state.

On Monday, FIRE Coalition and MAIA representatives began delivering lists of victims and their stories to the offices of the governor, state legislature and state Supreme Court chief justices across the United States.

As he concluded the presentation, Childress said, “After Monday, no state governor will be able to deny knowing the problem was this bad. After Monday, no state representative will be able to say they didn’t know the problem was this bad.

After Monday, no chief justice of the Supreme Court will be able to say they didn’t know the problem was this bad.”

I have long thought that those churches, as well as unions and financial insututions, were, according to the 1996 INS laws, 'encouraging' illegal immigration for financial gain and thus subject to RICO prosecution. I am happy to see that AFR may 'take on' the church and pursue the charter issue...I hope they will go with RICO as well. The Catholic church's support of the illegals is very clear, wrong, and should punishable, IMO.

We need a documentary (an hour or two )shown on Fox News or CNN, with as few commercials as possible explaining the full scope of problems associated with this problem. All people see now are snipets mixed in with other news, or if there is a good guest on like TJ Bonner, they always run out of time.
