Citizenship is a big responsibility. It means that you root for the country you are a citizen of. But words are cheap. If you have love for your country you care for it, realize that it could fall and think about what you can do to help it.

Someone who comes over here illegally and wants benefits may be a great person. But they apparently do not give a tiddly wink what is good for our nation. They should not be considered for citizenship.

Our nation cannot expect people to take this caring attitude unless it respects itself. If we let people walk all over us it is our fault that they don't respect us in the morning.

Our education system and hospitals are going under due to too many taking and not enough giving. If we don't want to fall into that category we had better find the pride to protect ourselves.

It sounds like our populace has enough self-respect to say no to date rape. How about our politicians? Do they care about our nation? If we continue to pay people to come here, we will continue to be ravished.

WE NEED TO CHANGE THE FACE OF OUR ELECTIONS

I think we need a major elections & campaign overhaul, unless we can stop the massive pro open-borders lobbyist in DC we will always be engaged in this battle. We need our elected officials in Washington DC doing their jobs to which they have been elected and not out attending cocktail parties to raise money to run for office. Until we make it perfectly clear that we are not going to stand for this status Quo we will be in this D.I.S.G.U.S.T.I.N.G battle.

Every individual that does due diligence should have an equal chance to run for office.

How about: C-Span 4 = Local
C-Span 5 = State
C-Span 6 = Federal

All taxpayer funded. This is where candidates campaign, have town meetings, college discussions, debates and on and on...This may need major tweaking, but where there is a will there is a way.

We have become a nation of "enablers". This is the worst thing for an alcoholic, gambler, and type of addiction because it helps the addicted to continue. We are building a nation of addiction to entitlements and give aways. We are ENABLERS.

New nationwide poll results (American Pulse(TM) Survey of 4,069 respondents):

77% of Americans are against providing Educational Benefits to illegal aliens.

Can you hear us now, Governor Easley, Martin Lancaster, Roy Cooper, David Sullivan and the NC General Assembly?

Additionally, the poll also revealed these results:

82% of Americans are against providing Driver’s Licenses to illegal aliens
89% of Americans are against providing Business Licenses to illegal aliens
74% of Americans are against providing Job Training to illegal aliens
83% of Americans are against providing Housing Assistance to illegal aliens

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THESE ARE NATIONAL AVERAGES AND LIKELY TO BE SEVERAL PERCENT POINTS HIGHER IN A CONSERVATIVE STATE LIKE NC.

It is far past time that ALL politicians understand that the people of North Carolina and the entire country want our existing immigration laws enforced. We also demand the discontinuation of benefits to illegal aliens that should be reserved for citizens and legal residents only. We demand our politicians work for the American citizen, not foreign nationals who are in our country illegally.

Honesty and integrity top the list of qualities Americans would like to see in candidates running for federal office as 81.4% say honesty, 77.6% say a willingness to tell the truth, even if it harms their position and 77.1% say a willingness to stand for what they believe in, even if it's not in line with the position of his/her party.

Other key findings include:


-- Over half (56.9%) are very/somewhat concerned that terrorism will
affect the safety of their food.
-- 61.1% drink both bottled water and tap water... 22.7% say they don't
drink bottled water because they think it's from the tap.
-- Almost half (48.8%) are confident that hospital workers do everything
they can to keep them safe if they were to go to the hospital and 34.2%
worry a hospital stay would result in them getting sicker.
-- 59.4% say they regularly or occasionally play video games.
-- A little over one-third (36.3%) of video gamers are watching TV less,
19.4% are going to movies less and 15.7% are sleeping less.
