Nebraska does not advance Arizona-style immigration bill

Nebraska does not advance Arizona-style immigration bill

Story Created: Mar 9, 2011 at 5:35 PM CST

(Story Updated: Mar 9, 2011 at 7:02 PM CST )

A Nebraska bill that mimics Arizona's illegal immigration measure failed to advance in committee Wednesday.

The bill from Fremont Senator Charlie Janssen would require police to confirm the residency status of suspected illegal immigrants.

The Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday not to advance any immigration bills to the full Legislature this year.

Instead, it is recommending studying issues related to illegal immigration this summer.

Simply put...We haven't got the guts to stand up for what is right and what the American public is demanding.

what does it matter when the bills get looked at.
no committee should be able to kill legislation, they should only be able to suggest to the entire state senate or state house

Oh - it's not because they don't have the GUTS to pass it. FIVE of the eight Judiciary Committee members are PRO-ILLEGAL ALIEN and sponsored a LR39 which would have officially made Nebraska a Sanctuary State/Safe-Haven for illegal aliens - two are for ENFORCEMENT and one is unknown! Note the article said ALL immigration proposals would be put on hold.

Nebraskans are planning to educate their consitutents throughout the year 1 hour a week on the busiest street corner nearest their homes. Let them explain to their families and neighbors WHY they care more about illegal aliens than the Nebraska taxpayer.

Thanks to everyone who put up a fuss by calling and emailing - THAT made a huge difference. Thanks, again for all ALIPAC and its members do to help us out. God Bless!
