Riot erupts at state prison in Chino

CHINO, Calif. It's taken about three hours for guards to restore order after 200 inmates rioted last night at prison in California.
Guards at the California Institution for Men in Chino used foam bullets, pepper spray and tear gas to get about 200 inmates back under control.

Corrections spokesman Todd Slosek says the trouble began shortly before seven last night in a housing unit reception. It's not clear who started it but Slosek says it appears black and Latino inmates squared off.

He says no guards were hurt but five inmates had to be hospitalized.

Television images showed a number of the inmates wearing just their underwear and slippers as they were escorted from a prison yard by guards.

This may be inappropriate, but who do you think went to the hospital? Growing up in Phoenix, everyone that I spoke to from Cali talk about how the Black and mexicans do not get along. I believe that the gang mentality will defeat the mexican mutiny in California, or at least destabilize it to the point that it will not take hold in any sturdy manner.

It's not just blacks vs Latinos. There are different black gangs who don't get a long with each other (Crips, Bloods, Black Guerilla Family ect) and Latino gangs who are in conflict (Northern vs Southern Mexicans) then you have the Aryan Nation, MS13, and various Asian gangs although Asian gangs are low in number.

If one group feels disrespected by any other racial group, they will usually retaliate.

I don't know if any of you caught Al Roker's on Court TV last night. It was talking about Gangs, MS-13 in Shenandoah Virginia, Raleigh NC and about other gangs.

I was surprised that Al was doing this, I thought he was only doing Roker on the Road on the Food Channel.

I watched it after I got your PM. It was very interesting and frighting to see the growth of this monster among us.

I've been frightened about this for years. It's just another form of terrorism. I get upset when I see someone, usually leo's, being interviewed on tv saying, 'It's a gang killing'...as tho that makes it perfectly all right and understandable.

To my mind there ought to be a decidedly large sentence handed out to ANYONE who is in a gang. Meaning gang activity in itself would be illegal and punishable.
