They should be investigating Congress. Probably the biggest and richest bunch of liars, thieves and cons in one area at a time on the entire planet.

PHOENIX -- At a news conference in February, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio publicly criticized the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors for not cooperating with his investigation into the board.
That news conference took place right after Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) asked the Department of Justice to investigate whether Arpaio’s deputies had racially profiled people while enforcing illegal immigration laws.
CBS 5 News asked the sheriff the following question at the February news conference: “Given the premise of this news conference, if the attorney general chooses to investigate you, would you comply with the investigation?â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

[quote:2yzu23n0]But then if the Inspector General does find something wrong with the DOJ's actions, the Inspector General would probably just be fired by the Obama Admin. Just like the Inspector General who was fired recently with no good explanation, after he investigated and found wrongdoing by Obama's pal in California.
This reminds me of the Ramos-Compean ordeal. A couple of years ago, DHS Inspector General Richard L. Skinner admitted under questioning by Congressman John Culberson that the Department of Homeland Security lied to Congress on September 26, 2006 when it made claims that Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean confessed guilt and declared they "wanted to shoot some Mexicans" before an incident where Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, a Mexican drug smuggler, was shot in the buttocks while fleeing across the border.

Presumably, even though Skinner knew well beforehand of the false, baseless charges against Ramos & Compean, in which there was no documentation of any of the alleged civil rights abuses, he was simply reluctant to go against the Bush Administration, even though it's his job to inspect and investigate controversial cases.
The way that politics and government are shaped nowadays, it's almost as if public officials get more rewarded if they do a poorer job.
