Agents Seize Coke, Pot Worth $744K, Arrest Gang Member

Yuma, Ariz. - Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector seized more than 45 pounds of cocaine, 579 pounds of marijuana, and arrested a Sureno gang member in the past four days.Early Friday, Wellton Station agents patrolling near Gila Bend discovered a group of individuals travelling through the desert with large backpacks. San Luis CBP Officers Arrest Local Woman, Seize Coke, Meth Valued at Nearly $150,000

San Luis, Ariz. - A local woman was arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into the United States through the San Luis Port of Entry Sunday morning. Crystal Murro, 22, a U.S. citizen living in San Luis, was arrested after Customs and Border Protection officers, with the aid of a narcotics detection canine, found nearly five pounds of cocaine and seven pounds of methamphetamines in her 2005 Nissan Sentra during a secondary inspection. Tucson, Ariz. - A U.S. Customs and Border Protection Border Patrol agent from the Tucson Sector Sonoita Border Patrol Station seized 2,773 pounds of marijuana on July 22, worth more than $1.3 million, after smugglers abandoned their load.A Border Patrol agent attempted to stop a suspicious truck traveling on Forest Service Road 49 when the driver and passenger abandoned their vehicle containing 483 bundles of marijuana in the truck's cab and bed, which was covered with plywood.
