Border Patrol Puts Aggravated Felon Behind Bars

Tucson, Ariz. - A 24-year-old man from Mexico City, apprehended by Nogales Station Border Patrol agents in November 2011, was sentenced August 24 to 40 months of confinement. The U.S. Attorney's Office prosecuted Arturo Hernandez-Garcia, previously convicted on felony charges for illegally re-entering the United States. (more)

Lukeville CBP Officers Seize 206 Pounds of Pot

Lukeville, Ariz. - Two women were arrested yesterday in separate incidents for allegedly attempting to smuggle nearly $106,000 worth of marijuana into the United States through the Lukeville Port.Customs and Border Protection officers referred Maria Del Refugio Gonzalez, 37, of Rocky Point, Mexico, for secondary inspection of her Toyota truck when she attempted to enter the United States. CBP Air Crew Rescues Missing Hikers

Tucson, Ariz. - Two male hikers, ages 77 and 43, missing in northern Sabino Canyon near the Palisades hiking trail, were located yesterday in a remote area of Molino Canyon and airlifted to safety by a helicopter crew from Customs and Border Protection's Office of Air and Marine (OAM) in Tucson. Del Rio U.S. Border Patrol Agents Rescue Victim from Rio Grande

Del Rio, Texas - On Sunday, August 26, Del Rio U.S. Border Patrol agents received information of a possible drowning victim who was adrift in the Rio Grande River, approximately one mile north of the Del Rio port of entry. Yuma, Ariz. - The number of emergency medical technicians serving the U.S. Customs and Border Protection U.S. Border Patrol Yuma Sector swelled to 97, after 15 U.S. Border Patrol agents graduated from the National Registry EMT course on August 24. The course, held at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, included 22 students representing the CBP U. (more)
