Actually there are a lot of media postings that report on the Dream Act being halted by the cloture vote failure, including USA Today, Dallas Morning News, Chicago Sun-Times, Fox news, La Times, etc. and many more. Everybody puts their own slant on it of course. Just look into article content.

    judyweller,

I want to add that today we did block Amnesty because after the bill enters discussion it only takes 50 votes to add an amendment like the Dream Act and only 50 votes to pass the bill. The Democrats (Majority) will pass the defense spending bill (since it's a house keeping bill like the budget bill) and they will add those amendments and all it will take is 50 votes which they have.

This is a critical bill, that's why they are attaching these amendments to it because that alone would will kill other bills.

while there was SOME coverage ... there wasn't nearly enough ...

i'm not saying that as an antil illegal immgration proponet , but as one who has grown up watching news all his life ...

The most imporant poltical and news issues almost always center on domestic issues within the US ....

like some of the other posters on here have said , most people don't really care about DADT , if you want to be gay and in the miltiary , i could care less ..

The dream act was big as far as internal american poltics go ... and it got barely a wisper on TV ... it really did seem like a media blackout .. and that's sad because the press is suppose to report the news in an unbaised manner .. it just goes to show you how far our ethical structure has fallen apart in this country ..

I watched the CBS National News tonight and they made a big deal about how the Repubs blocked DADT when most Americans are for it. They made NO mention of the Dream Act.

The Repubs asked Reid to remove The Dream Act Before the vote but Harry refused. IMO he did this on purpose and is using the DADT as a political football with the the help of the Media.

This is totally unfair and blantantly dishonest. He knew the DADT would have not been blocked if the Dream Act had been removed.

The Gay Soldiers should & would lay the blame on Reid if they knew the truth about what happened.

You can still filibuster. but stopping the bill from getting to the floor where it can be amended is the easiest approach. However, Harry Reid outsmarted himself. He was so sure he could get the bill to the floor.
