PHOENIX -- Police took nearly three dozen suspected undocumented immigrants into custody from two drop houses in the West Valley Sunday afternoon.

According to a Phoenix police official, 10 people were taken into custody at a home near 63rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 2 p.m. Three of those people were arrested as suspected human smugglers.

A second drop house was discovered near 67th Avenue and Thomas Road a short time later.

Twenty-two people were taken into custody there, with six of them suspected of being human smugglers.

Police said it appeared the two homes were somehow connected.

There were no reports of injuries.
