A 28-year-old employee of a Mesa group home was arrested this week after deputies accused her of having sex with a 15-year-old resident.

Alejandra Rivas was booked into a Maricopa County jail Wednesday on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor.

The investigation began when the director of the Youth Enlightenment Systems home, in the 8500 block of East Emelita Avenue, contacted the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's spokesman Capt. Paul Chagolla said the teen told investigators that he had sex with Rivas on several occasions.

Rivas admitted to sexual contact and also told deputies that she is an undocumented immigrant, Chagolla said.
