Fort Pierce, FL, United States (AHN) - A family dispute over a turned off television set became violent on Sunday. One family member grabbed a knife and another called police.

According to a St. Lucie County Sheriff's report Franciso Yanez-Meijawas, 30, arrested early Saturday morning and charged with felony aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.

Yanez-Meija became irate when his relative turned off the TV. Then reportedly, Yanez-Mejia grabbed a knife and threatening to kill the relative. A chase ensued throughout the home with the relative using a trash can to shield him from the knife wielding attack.

The relative managed to get inside a bathroom and call police.

Yanez-Mejia said the knife was simply for cutting lemons and had no intentions to harm anyone. He remains in county jail with a 5,000 bail. In addition to police being involved, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are also reported to be investigating the incident.
