U.S. Border Patrol agents find abandoned marijuana

U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector found an abandoned load of marijuana on Wednesday near Antelope Hills, just east of Wellton.

Agent Robert Lowry of the Yuma Sector Public Affairs Office said agents assigned to the remote Camp Grip found three makeshift backpacks while conducting roving patrol duties in the area.

Lowry said the backpacks contained a total of six bundles of marijuana, weighing approximately 134 pounds.

“An investigation is currently ongoing as to the origination or owners of the marijuana,â€
