According to the United States Border Patrol Agents, some Belizeans were part of a large group of people who were captured trying to enter the US illegally this week.

Agents at the station in Presidio, Texas, say they apprehended a group of 98 persons on Thursday morning. The group, comprised of persons from Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador, had several families and children who were unaccompanied by any of their own relatives.

The bust was a joint effort between agents from the Presidio Station, who guard 113.8 border miles between the U.S. and Mexico and agents from the Big Bend Sector Border, who patrol 517 miles of the southwest border.

US border patrol agents have already caught more than 800 persons trying to make illegal entries for the month of May.

They accredit their success to good communication and collaboration with all parties involved in the border securing efforts.
