The Biden administration has reportedly admitted a whopping one million illegal immigrants into the United States, with the migrants likely to reside in the U.S. for at least seven years while awaiting asylum hearings.

The figure, drawn from "internal Homeland Security data and court filings" and reported on by the New York Times this week, represent "a humanitarian challenge and a political flash point," the paper said.

The million illegal immigrants counted by the Biden administration do not factor in those who have entered the country illegally since Biden took office. Border patrol agents have reported sky-high illegal immigration encounters at the southern border numerous months since Biden was sworn in.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform claimed last month that nearly five million illegal immigrants have entered the country since Biden rose to power, or "roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland," FAIR said.

The Times said this week that the roughly one million illegal immigrants admitted by the Biden administration "are from more than 150 countries around the globe."
