Anyone know if Oregon has made their official states language English?
We need to work on getting our own states to English only.

English is our states official language and it doesn't seem to matter.....and no one can tell me why since it is.....there are towns trying to vote to make it official in this state because of the Latinos......just wondered if it was a place to start for someone. Otherwise....this is already getting insane. We are having to import teachers from Spain for the "bi-lingual, must speak Spanish, English optional" crowd.

This is just one of many professions where we have workers that are kept out because they don't speak Spanish. Nurses, teachers etc.....heck right down to factory jobs, warehouse workers, daycare workers and laundry sorters. Heck we had a story where McDonalds requires Spanish in some areas.

Well how about all English speaking fire fighters quit and then the state can fill their spots with Spanish-speakers. First fire they come to, HOW will they communicate with other fire crews and property owners?

This is asinine! You make accommodations for the FEW? It's definitely a discrimination issue!

Jim Walker ponders the possibility that all fire crew members should be required to speak English, instead of having bilingual crew leaders.
    Now that makes sense!

Why do firefighters need to learn spanish? What about all the other languages? Should they learn Chinese, Arabic, Russian and several other languages too?

    MAKE ENGLISH THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE!
