Bill Clinton Warns Mexican Cartels, ‘Urban Gangs’ Bringing Drug Crisis To Your City

Former President Bill Clinton expressed his alarm to U.S. mayors on Saturday about the growing opioid crisis and warned that the drug epidemic is not going to be constrained to rural America because of heroin flowing in from Mexico and fentanyl growing more attractive to inner city gangs.

“In the beginning, this despicable epidemic had a less violent delivery system. Our kids were delivered and a lot of our adults were delivered into a paralyzing addiction by doctors, pharmacists and drug manufacturers, not by armed gangs. However, this movie is coming to a theater near you,” Clinton said to the U.S. Mayors Conference in Miami. “Because as the government got better at dealing with opioids, more people moved into heroin.”

“Heroin is even cheaper now because it is now being grown in Mexico in the hidden parts of the Sierra Madre Mountains and being harvested by preteens. And then it got even cheaper with fentanyl which is a synthetic drug that if you have a 13-year-old child or certainly a 15-year-old child who can make a ‘C’ in high school chemistry and access to a garage they can learn how to make. And now it’s becoming attractive to urban gangs,” Clinton warned. “It’s going to eat us all alive.”

Clinton has been privately sounding the alarm about the effects of Mexican heroin for years, speech transcripts released by WikiLeaks last fall revealed.

“Now, what has happened is this addiction has become more expensive and more hazardous because the government’s finally doing a better job of dealing with it. So it is morphing into a heroin epidemic in all kinds of small towns and rural areas all across America,” Clinton said at a fundraiser in November 2015. “Why is that? Because in distressed areas of Mexico, they’re able to grow poppies and harvest them with preteens protected by gangs in their physical isolation, so they can ship that heroin up here much cheaper than we could otherwise get it.”

At another fundraiser that same month, Clinton said that skyrocketing addiction rates are due to the fact that “heroin poppies, or opium, is now being grown – or poppies are now being grown in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico, and harvested by preteens. Eight- and nine-year-old kids are paid by the drug dealers to take care of the plants, squeeze them out, and begin the process of producing heroin. That’s why heroin is so much cheaper now than cocaine.”

When Speaking To Donors, Bill Clinton Sounds A Lot Like Donald Trump

A series of closed-door fundraisers this fall allowed former president Bill Clinton to speak candidly to donors about the state of the country. Transcripts from those speeches released by WikiLeaks reveal Clinton echoing some of the same themes that have driven Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

The Economy Hasn’t Gotten Better For The Working Class

Trump, who earlier this year proclaimed his love for “the poorly educated,” has consistently argued that working-class Americans have yet to see their financial fortunes improve under Obama.

At a November 2015 fundraiser in Canton, Ohio, Bill Clinton said Democrats have ignored the fact that “84 percent of the American people, after inflation, had not had a raise of 1 cent since the financial crash.”

Clinton went on to say that because of the economy, white working-class Americans “don’t have anything to look forward to when they get up in the morning. Because their lives are sort of stuck in neutral. Because their lives are sort of stuck in neutral.”

Clinton also cited the 84 percent figure at an October 2015 fundraiser in Hartford, Connecticut.

“I saw a chart the other day that said that since the crash, after inflation, 84 percent of the American people have had literally not one dollar increase in income,” he said.
“I was appalled that no one asked and no reporter wrote about the fact that a week before that debate a national report was published which said that the life expectancy of working-class, non-college- educated, white Americans, men and women, was dropping and was now less than Hispanics,” Clinton said at the November 2015 fundraiser.
The reason why, he explained, is “Because this country’s still coming apart at the seams for millions and millions of people. We have to figure out a way to restore broad-based growth, to have more jobs, more business formation, rising wages.”

    The Political System Is Rigged

Trump has tried to define his campaign as a battle against a system that is “rigged” against working class Americans. In an October 2015 fundraiser in Chesapeake, Maryland, Clinton agreed.

Working class voters, Clinton explained, “think the political system is rigged against them, which it is to some extent, and they think it doesn’t make any difference anyway, so they want to vote for whoever they think will raise the most hell.”

    Mexican Heroin Is Killing Americans

Trump has cited skyrocketing rates of heroin addiction as support for his proposed crackdown on illegal immigration.

Bill’s speeches show the former president is similarly concerned about heroin flowing across the southern border. During an October 19, 2015 fundraiser in Potomac, Maryland, he blamed Mexican cartels for the “epidemic of prescription drug and heroin addiction that is sweeping across America and has gone into every rural area and small town in the country.”

He noted that “the price of heroin has dropped persistently as more of the plants are being grown in Mexico and harvested in remote areas of the Sierra Madre by preteens who take the poppies, squeeze them, and begin the process.”

“Now, what has happened is this addiction has become more expensive and more hazardous because the government’s finally doing a better job of dealing with it. So it is morphing into a heroin epidemic in all kinds of small towns and rural areas all across America. Why is that?” he asked at an October 7, 2015 fundraiser in Michigan.

“Because in distressed areas of Mexico, they’re able to grow poppies and harvest them with preteens protected by gangs in their physical isolation, so they can ship that heroin up here much cheaper than we could otherwise get it,” he explained.

While speaking at a fundraiser in Vienna, Virginia later that month, Clinton said the reason for high addiction rates is that, “heroin poppies, or opium, is now being grown – or poppies are now being grown in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico, and harvested by preteens. Eight- and nine-year- old kids are paid by the drug dealers to take care of the plants, squeeze them out, and begin the process of producing heroin. That’s why heroin is so much cheaper now than cocaine.”

“And it is flooding in the small towns in rural America where the economy has collapsed and where young people thingk there is no hope,” he continued.

America’s Next President Needs To Make The Country Great Again

Using language that calls to mind Trump’s promise to “Make America Great Again,” Bill Clinton said the job of the next president is “to bring America back, an America where if people work hard, they can get rewarded; where if you do what you’re supposed to do, you can send your kids to college and they can look forward to having a decent future; where it’s possible if you work hard to raise a family and succeed at work and at home in the most important job of any society, raising children.”

LOL!! You got that right. Remember when this whole problem first surfaced? During the New Hampshire primary when the people of New Hampshire were telling then candidate Donald Trump that their biggest problem was heroin addiction. He was so stunned ... heroin addiction? In New Hampshire with its beautiful farms and little winding roads?? Convinced, he took that problem on the campaign trail and talked about it non-stop at every one of his Rallies. But for Trump and the people of New Hampshire who told him about it, I doubt the rest of us would even know anything about these killer narcotics that are stealing the lives of over 60,000 Americans every year in over-dose deaths alone.

The drugs could be slowed down and stopped if everyone really decided get involved all the way to the top. Millions of camera phones on the streets and everyday people witness drug deals on the streets. If everyone got involved uploaded videos and photos, even license plate numbers to DEA websites IF they created a specific website and added a link, offer rewards, what is a few hundred thousand dollars to our government or even a million for evidence for breaking up a drug line. The money would be returned ten-fold from confiscation of properties involved with drugs. We will need more rehab centers bed are full and a waiting list sometimes weeks or months to get into one. It will take everyone getting involved and demanding it be stopped. We have local police, government officials, politicians all getting wealthy off these drugs that are killing and destroying our families. If you don't trust the local police move up to the DEA. If you think it won't strike your family or friends at some point ...keep dreaming. It could be done if everyone of us got involved instead of ignoring what we witness everyday. We don't have to put ourselves in danger...but if you are sitting in a parking lot and witness something and get a chance video or take a photo. It could be done but it is obvious there is to much money changing hands all the way up to the top to want it stopped. So here we sit waiting again for our government to take control and actually do something about the drug problem as we all watch our communities be destroyed and sometimes witness it. Start calling your representatives, local law enforcement and demand something be done.

Where is the mexican government on this? Since they entered into a lawsuit to allow their illegals to stay in USA, can we sue them for allowing poppy production and distribution?

The drugs could be slowed down and stopped if everyone really decided get involved all the way to the top.
In theory yes, but as long as we are surrounded, in every city and rural area by illegals, the drug cartels will continue to move their product. Sanctuary cities are a big cover for distribution. Has their been one instance of an illegal reporting illegal drug activity? Don't think so, yet the reasoning stated for sanc cities is so illegals will "not be afraid to report crime to police".

As the rate of opioid addiction has surged in the United States, Mexico has become the world's third-largest producer of opium used to process heroin. Mexican cartels are now the primary suppliers of the drug to the US, producing a crude and unrefined form known as black tar.VICE News travels to the fertile mountains of western Mexico, where we see the beginning of the path black tar heroin takes to the US on plantations growing poppies used to make opium. We then head across the US border to witness the human cost there of the lucrative but destructive heroin trade.
