    Bill to Prevent Illegal Voting

    Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) introduced H.R. 4462:

"To amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require an
individual to provide proof that the individual is a citizen of the United
States as a condition of registering to vote in elections for Federal
office...." The bill specifies that a Driver's License is not acceptable
as identification (Sec. 3(c)(4)). (Introduced Dec. 7, 2005)

H.R. 4462 would solve a very urgent concern for all U.S. citizens, and
that is the potential widespread registration of illegal aliens to vote in
    our upcoming 2006 national elections.

However, this bill currently has no co-sponsors, and was referred to the
    House Committee on House Administration.

Thus, I think it would be worthwhile to write state representatives
requesting that they co-sponsor Rep. Gringrey's bill. And, any further
positive support and publicity which could be given to this important
legislation would be a real plus at this critical time.

that's a great idea, I just hope it's not too late. Proof of citizenship should be a prerequisite in all elections -- state and federal

have no problem with this law either. but i do say to worry about other things first before turning over to this one. the issue is at the bottom of problems with the electoral process.

do know that since the US has no national id, many just have a license. others have nothing. and due to the ugly history in the south towards blacks, the potential for abuse is there. perhaps do like mexico, have a national voter id. make easy to get and free. stay away from the "poll tax" issues.

It's time for you to speak English in order that we AMERICANS can better understand you. This disjointed speech isn't going to get er done, INQUI.

As far as ILLEGALS VOTING, once they stepped Illegaly over our border, they broke the law. Once one breaks the law and is allowed to get away with it, human nature is such that they escalate the behavior. Voting Illegaly is but one of many laws they continue to break.

I reiterate, if you want healthy debate, SPEAK ENGLISH. Reading what you've written only cements my personal belief that our educational system has been dumbed down to accomodate Illegals who refuse to assimilate and come here sadly lacking in the basics.

As a resident of Mexifornia we so need to verify whether voters are citizens, like duh!!! Sounds like you are having others go after this one W. Sure hope so, outrageous how illegal people can vote, insane (seems I use the word 'insane' a lot nowadays). Makes us look stupid to allow anyone to vote without proving citizenship. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

TheInquisitor must be using a translator website to convert what he/she is saying in SPANISH into ENGLISH. You can't fool us! Either that or you need to get your money back from your ENGLISH teacher.

Anyway, I know our education system has been dumbed down because we have to accomodate them. It is happening in colleges also!!!
