Tuesday, August 7, 2007

Tonight, a desperate race against time to rescue six trapped
coal miners in a central Utah mine. Rescue workers have
undertaken five separate courses of action, but it will take at
least three days to find them. Many are calling the rescue
effort way too slow – but what more can be done? We’ll have the
latest on this tragic mine collapse tonight.

The United States naturalizes 3,200 new citizens and welcomes
3,300 new permanent residents each and every day. This country
has nine guest workers programs with an unlimited cap on the
number of people who can enter under the programs. If we are
such a welcoming nation, why do we have an illegal immigration
crisis? We’ll report tonight on a federal government that is
unable to enforce its laws and protect its borders.

Cities and states across the country are passing all different
types of immigration laws to fit their individual needs because
the federal government is failing to take charge of the
problems posed by illegal immigration. We’ll take a look at the
different laws being made across the United States.

Every year U.S. companies deliver tens of billions of dollars

Commerce and State Departments are responsible for making sure
the technology doesn’t fall into the wrong hands – but
lawmakers say they are doing a lousy job. Why are they dropping
the ball when it comes to our security? Find out tonight.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says he plans to
crack down on employers who hire illegal aliens in this
country. Today, he's demonstrating the program designed to do
just that along with Sen. Lindsey Graham. We'll have a special
report.
