As the weather heats up in the southern Arizona desert, the more dangerous it becomes for undocumented immigrants to cross into the U.S.
Earlier this week, Border Patrol agents reportedly rescued 13 Mexican nationals who'd become stranded in the desert.
On Sunday, a Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) agent responded to a group of 10 immigrants who had apparently started a fire as a distress signal on the Tohono Indian Reservation.
The group reportedly told the agent their smuggler had deserted them.
They were treated for mild dehydration.
On Monday, agents rescued three more undocumented immigrants who apparently called for help from a cell phone.
All 13 apprehended immigrants were reportedly taken to the Tucson Coordination Center for processing.
Last year, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents rescued more than 460 people -- many of whom had been left behind by their smugglers when they were unable to keep up with the rest of their group.

Why is it our problem to rescue, treat and try these people? We can give them all a bottle of water and shove them across the border back to Mexico.
