U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge seized about $1.4 million worth of cocaine Tuesday.

During secondary inspection of a 2009 Dodge Nitro sedan, officers found 19 packages of cocaine, according to an agency statement.

The drugs, which weighed more than 44 pounds, and the vehicle were taken into custody.

The driver, a 22 year-old man, was arrested and transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s custody for a further investigation.
