The War on Drugs is a delusion.

We tried prohibition here at home, and interdiction in Columbia and Mexico. The result was always the same: rival drug gangs - alcohol is a drug, after all - and massive corruption of government officials and police.

The only drug policy which will work long term is legalization, taxation, regulation, and education.

There's a perverse aspect to the War on Drugs. Illegal aliens undercut Americans for entry level jobs. Then our own people end up in jail for minor drug crimes, before they even have a chance to learn what it means to be responsible adults. Then illegals have an even easier time of undercutting them for entry level jobs. It's a vicious cycle, which 'Bama's executive amnesty will, if not defunded, make even worse.
