Border monitor drive begins
By: Wire Reports -
An alliance of legal agencies today announced a drive to recruit observers to monitor civilian border patrol groups that plan to deploy at the U.S.-Mexico border next month, as they did earlier this summer.
The "San Diego Legal Observer Coalition" is a joint project of the American Civil Liberties Union, American Immigration Lawyers Association, La Raza Lawyers of San Diego and National Lawyers Guild of San Diego.
The effort comes in response to the actions of a group calling itself the California Minutemen, which sent volunteers to the international border near Campo in mid-July following a similar effort in Arizona a few months earlier.
The self-proclaimed mission of the loose-knit organization ---- and another one dubbed "Friends of the Border Patrol" ---- is to help prevent illegal immigration and violence and property crime that purportedly accompany it.
Civil rights groups have decried the California Minutemen and Friends of the Border Patrol as armed and dangerous reactionaries with grudges against Latino immigrants.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

There is an upside to this.
If there are more people on the border, then there are less people crossing the border. The ACLU and all of the others are helping us more than they are hurting us.
Let's just hope the ACLU are also looking after the civil liverties of The Minutemen and not just the illegals crossing the border.

Welcome, Skinnie1551
You're right, the more people watching the less people crossing. Unfortunately, the ACLU once again, is on the wrong side of the fence. Of course, if they stand for the rights of American Citizens they should be standing up for the Minutemen. But once again, they show they are actually anti-American, and once again they are ending up downgrading their own reputation by not even being able TO SEE who the real vicitms are when it comes to illegal immigration.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

The Friends of the Border Patrol are unarmed.
The ACLU observers are such fools. They actually stood around and watched the Campo VFW while the Minutemen had a rib dinner. I guess they were making sure no one abused any ribs.
Anyway, I think opposition to civilian patrols is a good thing. Especially the crazy "racist" shouting protesters. I love them. They're like a traveling circus of freaks. The media eats it up and it brings more attention to the anti-illegal immigration movement.
