For the second time this week, police are scouring a beach side community in search of illegal immigrants suspected of coming ashore this morning. Two people are in custody and a search is underway for others in the 1600 block of South Ocean in Manalapan, said Frank Miller, the U.S. Border Patrol special agent in charge.

Authorities are also in the air searching for the believed smuggling vessel they suspect is already headed back to the Bahamas, Miller said.

Authorities were alerted to the suspected illegal immigrants at 8 a.m.

Monday, 11 illegal immigrants and one smuggler were taken into custody after a landing in Palm Beach.
