Border Patrol agents arrested a trucker on Friday at the Falfurrias checkpoint, where they found 20 immigrants locked inside of a tractor-trailer.

A K-9 alerted agents to the tractor-trailer during an immigration inspection, according to a news release by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Upon further inspection, agents found the 20 immigrants, who were not legally present in the United States.

The immigrants were locked inside of the trailer “with no means of escape,” according to the news release.

Agents arrested the driver and handed the case over to the Rio Grande Valley Sector Prosecution's north office. The driver of the truck was not identified.
