Border Patrol seizes 30 bundles of pot

SAN DIEGO – Thirty bundles of marijuana worth more than $500,000 were seized Wednesday when a vehicle was stopped by Border Patrol agents after it headed north on Interstate 5 in Orange County.

The vehicle was stopped near the Oso Parkway exit in Mission Viejo and Border Patrol agents who approached the vehicle saw several large bundles inside, authorities said. The marijuana removed from the SUV weighed 839 pounds.

A 25-year-old man driving the SUV, a Mexican national, was arrested and turned over to federal authorities.
