Border police, troops brace for caravan surge in Arizona

Federal law enforcement and military troops are bracing for another potential storming of the border, this time in Arizona.

Active-duty troops joined Customs and Border Protection officers at southern Arizona's Port of Nogales and DeConcini Crossing Wednesday for a "large-scale operational readiness exercise," or a major training session.

Troops and border forces acted out all the steps necessary to secure the port in case hundreds or even a couple thousand people try to charge through the border crossing from Mexico, like the incident that took place between Tijuana and San Diego on Nov. 25.

"The exercises were training in preparation to deal with the potential of large crowds and assaultive behavior by caravan members," CBP said in a statement outlining the training. "They included tactical operations with the use of role players and inert smoke to simulate real world environments. This training will allow our officers to respond tactically should a situation arise."

Ten days ago, between 500 and 1,000 of the estimated 6,000 Central American migrants gathered in Tijuana attempted to overwhelm Border Patrol agents who were manning land between crossings.

Federal agents used tear gas against attackers because they assaulted law enforcement personnel while trying to break through the barrier, San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodney S. Scott said after the incident.

"What I saw on the border yesterday was not people walking up to Border Patrol agents and asking to claim asylum," Scott said. "The group immediately started throwing rocks and debris at our agents, taunting the agents, and once our agents were assaulted, and the numbers started growing, we had two or three agents at a time initially facing hundreds of people at a time, they deployed tear gas to protect themselves and to protect the border."

A week earlier, CBP shut down the San Ysidro port due to reports some in the group were planning to run through the port of entry without being inspected, which is illegal.

However, in that incident, none of the estimated 5,800 active-duty troops that were deployed to various parts of the border were on the front lines.

Major training sessions while 1900 march through.

Why the military in this training exercise, they were not on the front lines last time?

This is an F grade movie script. Fail!

San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodney S. Scott sees no problem whatsoever with 1900 walking up to claim asylum, just don't throw rocks.

I am convinced there will never be a wall, but even if we had a 30 ft concrete wall on all 1950 miles of the border, it would not help at all with the Border Patrol we now have. They would stand there and watch ladder trucks lift the people over. They would be there with welcoming arms to "process' these illegals, get on their phones and find them housing.

I really don't understand what Border Patrol thinks they're doing. If they think they're winning the support of the American people with this kind of behavior on their own part, they are dead wrong. All those Border Patrol Agents who shined their lights on those people sneaking through the gaps so they can see good to complete their illegal entry, then arresting them, instead of getting out of their vehicles, running towards them with batons swinging and tear gas ready to scare, beat and gas them back into Mexico, made a HUUUGE mistake.

Hey Border Patrol, just in case you fancy pants aren't aware of this, when you lose the support of people like US here at ALIPAC, you will eventually lose your jobs. After all, an Open Borders Policy like was elected in 2018 doesn't need a Border Patrol.

We do not have to wait to see what the election of 2018 will bring, we can see clearly that we already have an Open Borders with the administration currently in power.

Then you need to contact DemoQuacks. They're in charge of wall funding, they're in charge of rules of engagement at the border, they're in charge of asylum laws, sanctuary city and catch and release laws, bail bonds, all of it. So if there's something going on that you're unhappy with, you need to write, fax, email or call the DemoQuacks and express your concerns.

Unless Trump can come up with an out of country Plan B using diplomatic negotiations and economic sanctions, something along the lines of Judy's Plan B, there's really nothing much he can do at this point other than continue to issue orders only to watch them stopped by court rulings from lawsuits filed by DemoQuacks.

That's because of Rule of Law, Law and Order, because we're a Nation of Laws.

And in your post where you said you were convinced there will never be a wall. That's absolutely correct. There will never be a wall. Republicans didn't have enough votes on their own to authorize and fund it, DemoQuacks blocked it, the only solution was more Republicans elected in 2018, the majority of American Voters didn't want it, voted accordingly, and the Wall Dream died. It's over. Trump will fight for Fence Funding, and he'll get some, which will make some difference, but not enough to seal up the border like he wanted to do.

    Elections have consequences.
