Border Patrol Canine Alerts to 5.7 Million Worth of Dope in California

Calexico, CA. – Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Station recovered several bundles of marijuana from a Budget rental truck parked in a lot near Calexico, Calif., early Saturday morning.
Border Patrol agents received information from a concerned citizen that the truck was being used for illegal activity. Agents were granted permission to enter the premises. Shortly thereafter, a canine detection
More than 7,000 pounds of marijuana valued at $5.7 million was seized from a rental truck in California.
When agents opened the rear door, a large number of wrapped bundles were discovered in the cargo area which, later tested positive as marijuana.
A total of 309 bundles of marijuana were removed from the truck, totaling 7,160 pounds. The seized narcotics have an estimated value of over $5.7 million. An extensive search of the area was made, but no subjects were located in connection with the marijuana.
The marijuana was later turned over to the Imperial County Narcotics Task Force.

It was just pot, nothing more. Unfortunately it was probably grown outside this country which means that some Americans didn't get jobs picking and processing the stuff. There went some more American jobs. HAH!

There have been quite a few "big drug" busts lately. Seems like it should make some kind of impact on drug cartels losing the money. But, what do I know. If Americans would stop using the stuff, it wouldn't be such a problem.
