BREAKING NEWS: Death threats close Grijalva's offices

BREAKING NEWS: Death threats close Grijalva's offices
    Posted - 4/23/2010 at 12:59PM

TUCSON - Arizona Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva is closing his Tucson and Yuma offices Friday at noon because of multiple death threats and threats of violence, according to a spokesperson from his office.

Tucson police are currently stationed outside his Tucson office.

It's believed this is in response to Congressman Grijalva's stance on the Immigration Enforcement Bill currently awaiting action on Governor Jan Brewer's desk.

Grijalva is opposed to SB-1070, which among other things, would give law enforcement authorities the power to question people about their immigration status, if there is reason to believe they are in this country illegallly.

Grijalva has also called for an economic boycott against Arizona, saying companies should not hold their conventions in the state until Arizona either rejects or overturns the measure.

Governor Jan Brewer has not decided whether she will sign the bill, or veto it. She has until Saturday to do so. If she doesn't sign it, the bill will become law.

Odd how no other representative reported......let alone was forced to close......their offices because of threats.

Not saying it didn't happen to anyone of course.....just strange that it's ONLY Grijalva crying about it.

Or maybe he just wanted to go home early and plan his next career......w/o his precious illegal aliens to represent he goes back to being a nobody :P

American citizens have been quite reserved given the fact that Grijalva is openly representing the interests of those who have no legal right to be in this country, at the peril of this country and its citizens.
