TUCSON - Arizona Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva is closing his Tucson and Yuma offices Friday at noon because of multiple death threats and threats of violence, according to a spokesperson from his office.

Tucson police are currently stationed outside his Tucson office.

It's believed this is in response to Congressman Grijalva's stance on the Immigration Enforcement Bill currently awaiting action on Governor Jan Brewer's desk.

Grijalva is opposed to SB-1070, which among other things, would give law enforcement authorities the power to question people about their immigration status, if there is reason to believe they are in this country illegallly.

Grijalva has also called for an economic boycott against Arizona, saying companies should not hold their conventions in the state until Arizona either rejects or overturns the measure.

Governor Jan Brewer has not decided whether she will sign the bill, or veto it. She has until Saturday to do so. If she doesn't sign it, the bill will become law.
