Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a Republican, said Tuesday he would not endorse a guest worker proposal until the federal government reclaims control of the U.S.-Mexico border and stops a "catch and release" program that has allowed undocumented immigrants from countries other than Mexico, or OTMs, to disappear in American cities.

Chertoff told Congress the Homeland Security Department would end the catch and release program immediately.

He said 120,000 of the 160,000 undocumented non-Mexican immigrants apprehended on the Southwest border were released for lack of detention beds.
I hope by now that everyone has caught on that Chertoff's big announcement yesterday only applies to OTMs, or Other Than Mexicans. There is no change in policy regarding the invaders from Mexico.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

"That is unacceptable, and we are going to change that immediately," Chertoff said.
OH NO! We can't have that! Let's just give 'em jobs and then they won't be illegal anymore.
