Busted immigration policies cost L.A. dearly

As Los Angeles struggles with revenue shortfalls and cuts from Sacramento, keep the following figure in mind: $444 million.

That, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services, is how much illegal immigration costs L.A. County in welfare and food stamps per year. Nearly half a billion dollars.

Immigration may be Washington’s problem, but L.A. is bearing the cost.

The federal government’s refusal to implement reform that allows for sensible immigration for hard-working and self-sufficient people perpetuates the current broken system - under which anyone can come in, without accountability or regulation.

What’s more, when people work “invisiblyâ€

A "broken" immigration system is not why Los Angeles....or any of CA....is in the bad way it's in and this constant contention that if only it were "fixed" would solve the problem is tiresome.

How does anyone in their right mind believe that changes....positive to the IAs, of course.......would make one bit of difference in the amount shelled out in welfare, food stamps, public services, etc? It wouldn't.

I think that we can consider California as being a socialist government.

It doesn't make one bit of dfference if u give every illegal here in Cali amnesty, they'd end up costing los angeles more in public service benefits that they don't deserve and should not be entitled to. It's Los Angeles's fault for being pro IA and if they weren't a sanctuary city and weren't a magnet for these illegals and would help work to get rid of these IA they wouldn't be burdened with 444 million in costs being paid to IA. They need to shut the hell up already and bear the cost they helped create and stop whining that if comprehensive immigration reform was passed that this wouldn't be a problem, that's crap and they know it. If amnesty passed then it would be over 1 billion a year when more illegals come demanding for the next amnesty!

I live in a sanctuary city and the crime is screaming out of control. It makes me sick. I do everything I can to help people become aware and most of the time I get blank stares. Our time is coming when we are California.

    Compensation

This topic is not new, but, as I read through one of the news postings, it became very clear that there are too many in America who want to deflect attention from their own local governments failed policies, by claiming the federal government is responsible & should pay up to fix everything. Most who make such claims also suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS), which basically means if they can find any fault at all on anything, they blame George Bush.
First, George Bush has totally screwed up the immigration issue. He does this by promoting a guest-worker plan with no real plan & worse no real intention to ever properly secure the borders & especially the porous southern border. We cannot provide benefits until we secure the border or we will have many millions more rushing in to gather in a share of the freebie benefits the feds will dole out! History has already proven this so we need no more examples. However, it is not "just" George Bush. He has an awful lot of company in this meme. The numbers in Congress, state legislatures, social engineering organizations, non governmental organizations, even the UN, the clergy, & so many more, also enable this problem. Its both sides of the political aisle. Its not just George, us terrible Republicans, conservatives, Christians, etc! Most of the former are angry & want this fixed correctly by deporting the illegal aliens.
The trouble is, Congress, or at least the immigration reformers, also want to do this. Republicans so they make their business contributors happy by supplying cheap illegal alien labor who cannot complain about their wages, benefits, or working conditions. Democrats because they are convinced many of the illegal aliens come from socialist nations & they know no other form of government, so they will surely back the socialization of America. And they will do that by backing Democrats when they vote. Add to this the probability that many illegal aliens are already voting despite the fact it too is illegal & Democrats end up with an election edge by pandering to this foolish group of gullible people who if they really did assimilate, they would enthusiastically embrace conservatism.
The idea or assertion that the federal government should be compensating local municipalities for the costs they incur to deal with illegal aliens, is absurd in the extreme. They are saying, "we are breaking the law by doing nothing to or with the illegal alien population in our midst, but you should pay for our stupid activities because the government should take care of everyone. Apparently they think that also means everyone in the entire world, not just America. (its easy to spend someone else's money, just ask Congress!)
I say, if you have policies, written or verbal, that call for law enforcement to ignore or fail to determine the legality of people in their jurisdictions, then that municipality must pay for its own stupidity!
It is against the law to enter into America without proper identification, documentation, or permission. Even if it is not illegal to be here once in, you are already a criminal by just entering & you are therefore, a fugitive from the law. Add to this the additional multiple crimes you committed to obtain employment, sometimes a residence, health care, social benefits, a drivers license, and numerous other forms of identification, and what we have are people guilty of multiple crimes which they have & intend to continue to violate despite knowing to do so is illegal.
Pay for the costs, no way. We should charge them for any costs we can even remotely associate with that municipality. We should also cut off access to any and all federal funds for anything at all, until they reverse their policies, laws, memo's of understanding, etc. and call for illegal aliens to be found, discovered, uncovered, detained, arrested, and subsequently deported. There is no halfway. Comply or lose money until you do. And if you fail to comply within sixty days (a generous time allowance I admit), then you can never, ever, ever, ever, recover any funds you previously lost! there will be no "do-overs." If you do not fix your violation of law & common sense, then you forever lose access to any of the money that were withheld. In fact, we may even go after funds paid to your town for the past ten to twenty years to boot!
This is America & all of us expect elected officials & law enforcement to comply with all of the laws, especially because they would prosecute us if we violated ANY law.
The people of America should be compensated for all the trouble we have had to deal with because your towns failed to obey our laws & defied them to boot, so you could shove your social engineering attitudes down our throats whether we liked it or not. Well guess what, this is a tit for tat issue so now you pay up!
How can anyone say if we legalize illegal aliens the costs California has incurred would go away? All they will do is increase. This is a simple plan to force the rest of the taxpayers to foot the bill for California's failure to obey our laws & get the illegal aliens out. Once legalized, the current crop of illegal aliens will simply apply for even more benefits they want for free. Plus they will encourage every brother, sister, cousin, in-law, Mother & Father, Aunts, Uncles, etc., to rush here as new illegals to get benefits. Its a vicious circle that just means Americans pay while the corrupt socialist gwat government nations these folks are escaping, can continue their corrupt & broken ways! America has become an enabler of broken governments. We citizens need an intervention. Its called, THE LAW!
    Mean, ain't I!
