Man Found In Neighbor's Bedroom Arrested

May 18 - BCN - Police on Monday arrested a 30-year-old man who was found early that morning inside the bedroom of a neighbor, on suspicion of burglary and attempted sexual assault.

At about 2:30 a.m. Monday, a woman sleeping in her bedroom with her 6-year-old child awoke to find Jose Mauricio Gonzalez-Galdamez standing over the TV set she had fallen asleep in front of, according to South San Francisco police.

Police reported that the woman and her husband, who had been in another bedroom at the time, were able to detain Gonzalez-Galdamez until police arrived.

Gonzalez-Galdamez, who lived in a separate residence behind the home, had removed his shoes prior to entering the home through an open, ground-level backyard window, and had his pants zipper down when he was detained, according to police. He reportedly gave conflicting statements to police as to why he was there.

Gonzalez-Galdamez has been placed on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold, police reported.

South San Francisco police continue to investigate several similar burglaries in this area, the Pecks Lot neighborhood, where ground-level screen windows were removed.

On April 17, another woman reported finding a man, with a description matching that of Gonzalez-Galdamez, standing in her kitchen at 3 a.m., according to police.
