The wife of Moreno Valley school board member and City Council hopeful Mike Rios has been deported to El Salvador. Rios is facing attempted murder, rape, pimping and pandering charges.

Dora Landaverde Torres, who had been held by federal immigration authorities in Santa Ana, was deported July 24, said Lori Haley, spokeswoman for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She was returned to El Salvador after she unsuccessfully tried to have her case reopened, Haley said.

Rios, 42, who was elected in November 2010 to the Moreno Valley Unified School District board, could not be reached Wednesday, Aug. 1, for comment. He has previously declined to discuss his wife’s detainment.

Landaverde Torres had been held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement since her September arrest as part of a nationwide operation focusing on convicted criminal aliens, officials said. She has been targeted for arrest based on a prior felony drug conviction, which led to her deportation in the late 1990s, officials said.

Landaverde Torres served 270 days in an Orange County jail in 1996 and three years probation after pleading guilty to the sale or transport of marijuana, court records show.

She was arrested Sept. 20 in a seven-day, 50-state federal operation during which 2,901 illegal immigrants who had been convicted of crimes were apprehended.

Landaverde Torres' removal had been put on hold while the immigration court considered a motion seeking to reopen her deportation case, officials said.

On Tuesday, July 31, Rios, elected to the school board in 2010, took his first steps toward running for City Council in the Nov. 6 election. He pulled nomination papers to run in District 1, which is represented by Councilman Jesse Molina.

In April, Rios was charged with pimping, pandering and rape. Prosecutors allege he persuaded or encouraged four women and two underage girls to work for him as prostitutes. In March, Rios was charged with attempted murder. He is accused of shooting at two people who he said followed him home after a confrontation at a Moreno Valley bar.

Rios has repeatedly said that he has done nothing wrong.

The sad thing is that this man with no moral compass will possibly get elected if the Riverside area has been colonized by illiterate illegal aliens that vote for whatever they are told to vote for. They haven't even thrown him off of the school board and he was arrested in APRIL. JMO


Moreno Valley school board member arrested on rape, pimping charges

A Moreno Valley Unified School District Board of Education member was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of committing 11 felonies including rape, pimping and pandering, the Riverside County district attorney's office said Wednesday night.
Mike Luis Rios, 42, was taken into custody shortly before 6 p.m. near his home by Moreno Valley police. He is being charged with six counts of pandering, three counts of pimping and two counts of rape by force or fear, authorities said.

The rape victims were described as adults. The pandering charge is tied to allegations that Rios derived proceeds from three adult women who worked for him as prostitutes, investigators said.

Riverside County investigators allege that while recruiting prostitutes, Rios told one woman he was a school board member and asked if she needed a job.

Another woman answered an Internet ad and Rios offered a juvenile girl use of his Hummer vehicle if she would work for him, authorities said.

Rios has a second case pending in which he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one one count of dissuading a witness, according to Deputy Dist. Atty. Michael Brusselback, who is prosecuting both cases.

Rios is alleged to have shot at two people outside his house in February following an altercation. No one was hit. Rios posted bail in that case and a felony settlement conference is scheduled for April 29 for the second case, according to Brusselback.

Rios' term on the board of education runs until 2014.

Of course he didn't do anything wrong because it's normal in MEXICO! We Americans have to learn to be tolerant of cultural diversity.
