Students to rally for immigration reform

BAKERSFIELD - The failure of the immigration reform bill in the Senate hasn’t stopped all immigration bills.
One group is hoping to drum up support for a bill allowing students to become permanent legal residents, but not everyone is supportive of the idea.

Last year, hundreds of people lined local streets in support of nationwide immigration reform.

This week, local students hope the same people will come out to support the Dream Act.

It would grant immediate temporary residency for undocumented high school graduates who’ve lived in the U.S. for at least five years.
