"I oppose CAFTA for a very simple reason: it is unconstitutional." - Representative Ron Paul, R-TX.

Mr. Paul goes on to cite the specific portion of the Constitution that applies, Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 stating that it is "incontravertable."

[The Congress shall have Power] To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

He further expounds upon the illegality of CAFTA citing that the president no more has the authority give away our sovereignty by treaty than he does the First Amendment. Amending the Consitution, which is the implied intent of CAFTA by way of it's context, may only be done so as prescribed by the Constitution:

Article. V.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

Haven't the Good Folk posting here stated that that nafta does not, did not, and will not work? Yes. Well no matter how the cafta pig is colored, it is another nafta. cafta has passed the senate and goes to the house. nafta did not generate jobs for Americans. If anything, it along with bushy's big mouth did and continues to influence the flood of illegals across the border.

cafta will only swell the ranks of those stealing their way into the U.S. resulting in the continual loss of jobs, increased social service costs, over loading our schools, dumbing down our students, increasing every type of crime, etc., etc., etc.

The only chance we as Americans have to stop this fiasco is to contact our reps. and to put pressure on them to defeat this piece of garbage in the house.

This is really serious and not a joke. Contact them today and everyday until this garbage goes out with the trash.
