    Foreign News Report

La Jornada , Milenio , El Financiero (Mexico City) 2/10/08

In an interview in Mexico City with a reporter from the NYTimes Mexico's President Calderon said that "harassment against Mexicans" in the U.S. represents a violation of human rights. "I do not deny the right of any country to have its own law and to apply it" "What I affirm is that a person's human rights are valid, independently of their immigrations status." "I am very concerned because this has generated an atmosphere full of prejudices, an anti-immigrant climate with certain themes that are also anti-Mexican, which doesn't benefit anyone."

The paper made reference to the concern by immigrants' defenders that Calderon's visit could represent a "political minefield" for the primary elections in the U.S. It pointed out that the three main presidential candidates, the Republican Senator John McCain and his Democratic colleagues, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton generally favor an integral immigration reform which includes a legalization of the undocumented. President Calderon added that Washington's efforts to build a border fence have added to tensions between the United States and Mexico as well as recent incidents such as the firing of tear gas bombs and shooting of Mexicans who were crossing the border illegally.

    El Heraldo (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) 2/10/08

The Intnt'l. Development Bank calculates that individual monetary remittances from the U.S. to Honduras reached 2.675 billion dollars in 2007.

Diario de Juarez (Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua) 2/10/08

Six men were executed in the state of Chihuahua in one night. In the city of Cuauhtemoc, three of them were repeatedly stabbed and the house in which they fell was then set on fire. In the town of Ojinaga, two others were shot to death while riding in a vehicle. The sixth one was found also shot to death in a vehicle on a dirt road outside the city of Parral. These bring Chihuahua's execution tally for this year to "more than 35."

    El Imparcial (Hermosillo, Sonora) 2/10/08

At a Mexican highway military checkpoint near Cananea, Sonora, a four vehicle convoy was stopped and found to have five assault rifles, two shotguns, 20 thousand dollars, six handguns, 32 clips, 523 rounds of ammo, a silencer and anti-riot gear. There was also some drug.
(note: type and amount of drug not indicated; Cananea is some 25 miles south of the border as the crow flies, and roughly south of Sierra Vista, AZ)

    El Universal (Mexico City) 2/10/08

At around 1 a.m. today unknown persons used "long barrel rifles" to execute five people in a bar. The killers then fled. The location was in Colonia Benito Juarez, Netzalhualcoyotl, a suburb of Mexico City.
    --------------------

La Cronica de Hoy (Mexico City) 2/10/08

Additional weapons were seized in different events in the states of Tamaulipas, Sonora and Chiapas. House searches in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, produced six long barrel firearms, 4 hand guns, 8 military uniforms, 150 rounds, 2 trailers and 8 vehicles. Combined results of highway checkpoint operations in the other two states yielded 2,725 rounds of ammo and 18 CO2 tanks. The vehicle stopped at the Sonora checkpoint had Calif. license 4VIN508.

The US has many wonderful rights. NO ONE forces Calderon's beloved "citizens" to stay here. WHY is he so desperate to keep them here? If he is so concerned with human rights, he would have a care of his citizens and also welcome illegal aliens in Mexico with open arms. Instead, illegals in Mexico are killed, beaten, jailed, tortured..you get the idea.

Hey, Felipe, your citizens are welcome to leave, the door is open for them to come back home to you! Why don't you want them?

And just how are non-Mexicans treated in Mexico? Especially illegal aliens.

He's a hypocrite, just like Vicente Fox.
Calderon was absolutely right when he said...."Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico".

What about the 2 girls in NC who are now dead because of your countrymen, what about the little girl in Indianapolis who now has two live with an STD for the rest of your life because one of your parisitic countrymen raped her.(see posting on this site Illegal Alien Molestor Gives STD To 5 Year Old ) What about their human rights? Your countrymen came to this country ILLEGALLY and took their human rights away because you sir ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO SOOOO!!!
