Don't tell that to Georgia, South Carolina, Hazelton, PA., Farmers Branch, TX., Missouri, Mariposa County, AZ., etc., etc., etc. Many states, counties, and cities are making laws to help fight illegal immigration.

California is being overrun with illegals but unfortunately state lawmakers have no interest in reversing the problem. However, they have a huge interest in acquiring money from outside the state to lessen the impact of a problem they had a big hand in creating.

I have absolutely no animosity toward the good citizens of California that are actively involved in fighting illegal immigration. However, I do have a powerful hatred for the California lawmakers that consistently act to encourage and welcome illegals into the state. It just so happens that the lawmakers requesting that we subsidize the cost of imprisonment for illegals are the same ones that have created much of the problem. For the record, the illegal that are incarcerated in California's prisons are not there because they are illegal aliens - they're there because California has routinely welcomed illegals into the state and, for the most part, have completely ignored their illegal aliens status.

In 1994 California passed the best immigration laws in the country PROPOSITION 187.

A FEDERAL JUDGE rulled it unconstitutional on the grounds that "IMMIGRATION is a FEDERAL issues and states can't write immigration laws."
I'm not saying this, it's what the fereral court ruled.

Yeah, I read it and wish them all the luck in the world. However, I'm under no false illusions because illegal alien loving Democrats still control California's General Assembly.

The state Assembly won't decide this, it's going to be voted on by the VOTERS of California.

And no matter what the voters want to do the FEDERAL COURT can rule it unconstitutional again.
We are more concerned with what the FEDERAL COURT will do with this than what the CA. state government will do.

I can see the headlines now: Alipacers from California and North Carolina declare civil war against each other.
And yes, the solution is very simple: it is called elementary arithmetic. You have a pot of $10 million for a program for 10,000 people, and you add another 100,000 to the recipients of that money, what happens? You need to go out and borrow money, which means you pay interest on that loan, further depleting the original pot and go further into debt.
This is not facing the same kind of possibility that the economic boom would ever end. Boom times are over everywhere in this country. And NC, Calif. and the majority of states and local governments are still living in some ethereal reality. Balance the budget by raising taxes, even though a large part of the population is jobless and some are living in their cars or under bridges. Even those that have jobs are a bit unsecure about going out and buying all those nifty imports from China.
Unfortunately, the federal pot is not unlimited, even though they talk like it is. We print more money continually which means the value of the dollars in our pocket is being diluted continually. Our money is based not so much on tax dollars, but being able to convince China, Russia and Saudi Arabia to buy our Treasury obligations. They are getting quite worried that they will never get paid back and are pushing for a new reserve currency.
But one thought: Happy Easter, happy spring; happy, happy everything.

. . . you EXPECT our money? Besides the point that Barry has given it all away andf I might add YOUR STATE GOT THE MOST! . . .
The reason CA. got a lot of the stimulas money is because 1 out of 8 Americans live in California.
They pay more federal taxes than any other stae so they get more back.

P.S. 1 out of 4 ALIPAC members lives in California

Let me just ask : "1 in 8 Americans live in California," does this statistic just include the citizens and legal residents, or is this taking into account all the living, breathing humans in this country, legal or not? I am exceptionally worried about the skewed statistics of the 2010 census.

I can't find the answer to this question yet.
The 1 in 8 figures come from the U.S. Census but I can't find anything that states that they are all citizens of the U.S.

P.S. They counted illegal aliens all over the country in the 2000 census.

A real one like REAGAN ? Former governor of CA. and former U.S. President.

The president who gave amnesty to more than 3 MILLION illegal aliens in 1986?

    I give up.

I don't know who it could be unless we could get Trancredo, Hunter or Bilbray to run for governor.

    Who would you suggest?
