CAMERON COUNTY - Local law enforcement are packing more firepower to meet the challenge of potential threats south of the border. Cameron County sheriff's deputies are switching from shot guns to assault rifles.
Sheriff Omar Lucio says his department needs to match up with the weapons used by the drug cartels. The weapons were purchased through forfeiture funds.
