Canadian border guards at Roosville border walk off job
Feb, 02 2006 - 8:10 AM
CRANBROOK/CKNW(AM980) - More Canadian border guards concerned about their safety have walked off the job.
It happened this morning at the Roosville crossing south of Cranbook after an alert was issued about an armed and dangerous man from the US possibly trying driving a stolen car into this country.
The border remains open.
Paula shore with the Canada Border Services Agency says the un-armed officers have the right to refuse to work if they feel their lives are in danger, so the crossing is now being guarded by managers.
A similar incident happened last week when two armed fugitives from California were arrested near the Peace Arch Crossing.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn
