FINALLY! This is a great victory for our side. For years now we have watched and lobbied for people to be warned of the growing violence against Americans, especially young Americans, in Mexico.

It is a shame that things had to get to the extreme levels they have reached for this to happen, but at least there is now an official effort in the Universities to warn our kids!

Recent violence in Mexico has prompted Colorado State University's Office of International Programs to advise using extreme caution for students and staff making spring break plans.

The U.S. State Department issued a travel alert about Mexico on Feb. 20, citing increasing drug violence.

According to the State Department, "The greatest increase in violence has occurred near the U.S. border. However, U.S. citizens traveling throughout Mexico should exercise caution in unfamiliar areas and be aware of their surroundings at all times. Mexican and foreign bystanders have been injured or killed in violent attacks in cities across the country, demonstrating the heightened risk of violence in public places."

Several other universities across the country are also urging students to note the increasing violence in certain areas in Mexico.
