Although not stated to be illegally here this is not someone who deserves to stay. She should be deported as soon as she comes out of prison!

Columbia woman charged with hitting infant
A Columbia woman is out on bail after deputies say she hit a 7-month-old girl she was caring for on March 19, causing bleeding around her brain.

Talisha Lavette Smith, 26, is charged with great bodily injury upon a child, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said.

Smith did not respond to questions when reached on her cellular phone Tuesday.

The infant was taken by ambulance to the Palmetto Health Richland Pediatric Intensive Care Unit from Providence Northeast, where her parents took her for treatment, records show.

Her condition is unknown. A man who picked her up noticed bruising on her left cheek area, a police report said.

Reports indicate Smith told the man the “baby had been trying to sit upâ€
