Companies Linked with Immigration Raids Have Dozens of Contracts with State of Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The two companies whose employees were arrested in immigration raids at Rhode Island courthouses this week have at least 45 other janitorial contracts with the state.

The administration of Governor Carcieri says they include the main state office building on Smith Hill, the attorney general’s office, two Division of Motor Vehicle offices, the Board of Elections and state’s command readiness facility.

The companies are TriState Enterprises based in North Providence; and Falcon Maintenance Co. LLC of Johnston.

TriState has, or has had, at least 27 state contracts, and Falcon at least 18.

Federal immigration officials arrested 31 people in the Tuesday raids on suspicion of being illegal immigrants. They are from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Brazil.
