Graham: Border measure cut
Graham: Border measure cut
He says Democrats yanked his border-security measure from defense bill
By JAMES ROSEN - McClatchy Newspapers
WASHINGTON — Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Tuesday that Democrats had stripped from a defense spending bill a $3 billion border-security amendment the Senate passed overwhelmingly last month.
Graham said Democrats also attached conditions to the Iraq war funding, leading all Republican senators on a conference committee to refuse to sign the panel’s report.

Surprise, surprise: the Dems aren't serious about border enforcement or security. All the more reason we agree to NO AMNESTY IN ANY FORM.

This needs to be put out there on the radio waves. Let's just tell the American people who are for our sovereignty, security, and our laws.

There is a touch of irony to Lindsey Graham being sold out. He can experience the betrayal his constituents (er....bigots?) felt over his unwavering support of amnesty.

Chambliss, Isakson Criticize Democratic Leaders’ Decision to Eliminate Border Security Funds from Defense Appropriations Bill
WASHINGTON (November 7, 2007) – U.S. Senators Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., and Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today criticized the decision by Democratic leaders to eliminate critical border security funding in the Department of Defense Appropriations Conference Report. Differences between the Senate and House versions of the legislation were approved Tuesday by a committee of negotiators.
The border security funding had been added to the bill in an amendment sponsored by U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, that was approved by the Senate on October 3, 2007, by a vote of 95 to 1. That amendment provides $3 billion to immediately pay for some of the manpower and technology necessary to secure the U.S. border.
“Earlier this year we had a very heated immigration debate in which we heard overwhelmingly from the American public that border security is their number one concern,â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Blunt Blasts Democrats for Removing Border Security Funds from Defense Bill
Republican Whip Urges Majority to Replace Funding Before Bringing
Spending Bill Back to the House
WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- House Republican Whip Roy
Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today after congressional
Democrats removed $3 billion in border security funding from the Fiscal
Year (FY) 2008 Department of Defense Appropriations conference report:
"The American people are rightly concerned about safeguarding our
homeland, securing our borders, and upholding the rule of law.
Unfortunately, these genuine and legitimate concerns are lost on
congressional democrats, who just this week decided to strip $3 billion in
border security funding from the Defense Appropriations bill. If this
Democrat-led Congress hopes to regain the trust and faith of the American
people, this funding, at a minimum, must be put back in this bill."
NOTE: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) successfully offered an amendment to
add $3 billion in border security funding to the Senate version of the
Defense spending measure. This week, however, House and Senate conferees
stripped this funding out of the bill. The two chambers are expected to
take up the conference report in the coming days.
