Controversial ballot translation debated on Beacon Hill

Boston (AP) -- The growing controversy over Chinese-language ballot translation will be heard on Beacon Hill Monday when activists hold a rally at the Statehouse.

The Chinese Progressive Association is urging Secretary of State William Galvin to approve fully bilingual ballots in predominantly Chinese-speaking precincts in Boston.

Galvin supports translation of all ballot instructions, but wants to keep the names of the actual candidates in English. He says translating English names phonetically into Chinese characters could result in different meanings and confusion among voters.

But Lydia Lowe of the Chinese Progressive Association tells The Boston Globe the translation of the names is the most important thing, because it would allow people to vote independently and without any assistance or interference.

BEING FLUENT IN ENGLISH SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT FOR VOTING. IT SHOULD ALSO BE A REQUIREMENT FOR CITIZENSHIP. IF THEY HAVENT BOTHERED TO LEARN DURING THE LONG PROCESS OF BECOMING A CITIZEN, THEN THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED ENOUGH IN THIS COUNTRY TO BE VOTING. ALL VOTING MATERIALS SHOULD BE IN ENGLISH ONLY.

Well that should tell you alot about why they back this crap up. Progressives another word for Liberal aka Socialist aka Communist.

Isn't it interesting that organization affliated with socialistic views are backing and aiding illegals and other legislation that will help destroy our country.
