The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office Neighborhood Narcotic Unit has disrupted a drug organization that has been selling illegal drugs to high school students and young adults in the Millcreek and Holladay areas. About 4 a.m. Friday, six search warrants and three arrest warrants were served at six residences throughout the county. Nine people were taken into custody - six of them on suspicion of distribution of a controlled substance. Enough crack cocaine to meet guidelines for federal charges was seized as were several thousands of dollars in cash and two cars, said Sgt. Kevin Matthews of Neighborhood Narcotic Unit. "We're done playing around with these guys," Matthews said. "We're playing hard ball now. . . . We're going to send a message out that this drug dealing's not going to be tolerated."

All nine people are undocumented Mexican nationals - three of whom had already been deported after convictions for distribution of a controlled substance, Matthews said. On Friday, five of the nine people were arrested on suspicion of possession of forged documents. The drug organization has been under investigation for the past few weeks. Members of the organization sold cocaine with a street value of $20,000 to undercover narcotics detectives, Matthews said. The organization has ties to Mexican drug groups, he said. - Justin Hill

You know, family values don't stop at the Rio Grande River.

Quote:
You don't know. It looks real. And that's all you're expected -- but I'm telling you, they're forging these documents
