WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Cherokee County authorities say they discovered nine illegal immigrants under blankets in a pickup truck stopped on Interstate-575 in Woodstock.

Sheriff's Maj. Ron Hunton says the driver, also an illegal immigrant, had a large amount of cash and apparently had driven the group from Arizona.

He says the large amount of money indicated to police the driver was hired to transport the group. He declined to specify the amount.

A deputy stopped the truck about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday because of a tag violation.

Besides providing a false name, the driver, Alexander Nieves Lopez, was charged with a number of traffic violations. He and his passengers were being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center for federal immigration officials.

I did not hear anything on local news about this.

I just wonder if they were questioned about when or how long ago they left Mexico? If not they should have been.

These people can brake our laws and bring they're disease. And the U.S. government will not do a thing to stop it. And the minute we speak out
and voice our concerns we are called names and given labels.

    I am fed up!

I hope that the officers and employees that have to come into contact with this illegal alien smuggler and his human cargo..have the good sense to wear masks, gloves and wash their hands....and have them all tested for Swine Flu and not put them in holding cells with other inmates.
