BAKERSFIELD - There’s some infighting with Kern County’s justice system as District Attorney Ed Jagels blasted Superior Court Judge Frank Hoover over a sentence he issued to two illegal Mexican immigrants.
According to Jagels, Isidro Tellez was convicted of receiving stolen property after being caught stripping a stolen car.

Lara Angel Lugunes Luis was convicted of drunk driving and causing a crash that injured three people, including a 7-month-old baby.

Judge Frank Hoover sentenced the two illegal alien defendants to six months in county jail.

Jagels wanted a year each and said Hoover went easier on the undocumented defendants than he would have on two American defendants.

In response, Hoover said, “Even if the District Attorney lied for a cheap political shot, a judge can’t comment on a pending case.â€
