BAKERSFIELD - There’s some infighting with Kern County’s justice system as District Attorney Ed Jagels blasted Superior Court Judge Frank Hoover over a sentence he issued to two illegal Mexican immigrants.
According to Jagels, Isidro Tellez was convicted of receiving stolen property after being caught stripping a stolen car.

Lara Angel Lugunes Luis was convicted of drunk driving and causing a crash that injured three people, including a 7-month-old baby.

Judge Frank Hoover sentenced the two illegal alien defendants to six months in county jail.

Jagels wanted a year each and said Hoover went easier on the undocumented defendants than he would have on two American defendants.

In response, Hoover said, “Even if the District Attorney lied for a cheap political shot, a judge can’t comment on a pending case.â€

That d.a. can kiss his stats goodbye. He'll never win another case in that court.

The DA doesn't have much room to scream - he only wanted a year each for these felons.

The questions that begs an answer is, will they both be deported upon completion of their sentence?

Sounds like there may be more to this story than what is here,

6 months for these types of convictions is not out of the ordinary at all these days. Now if they actually serve the time or not may be another story. Sentences are often fulfilled by means other than straight jail time, even after the sentences are read and logged.
It will not be enough to send a letter. We will have to march on washington and dictate terms in the white house
