Mayor McCrory Pulls Ahead of Sen. Smith in NC Gubernatorial Race Using Deceit

by Jim Kouri, TCV Media - Public Policy polling shows Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory running slightly ahead of State Senator Fred Smith in the North Carolina Republican Gubernatorial race. However, McCrory’s narrow lead is based on FAULTY information!

In addition, according to the same poll, McCrory also has a very slight (34-31) lead over Smith with voters whose main concern is moral and family values. Clearly, the public simply does not have all the facts.

Fred Smith is, and has been, a leading defender of traditional NC family values. In fact, Smith sponsored the Defense of Marriage Act, which would protect marriage as being between one man and one woman.

On the other hand, McCrory is a johnny-come-lately when it comes to social conservatism including family values.

One conservative voter said, "Our state is in serious trouble both fiscally and socially. We need to elect a true conservative to the Governor’s Office! Fred Smith is a leader with the experience, vision and tenacity to fix our broken government in Raleigh."

Mayor Pat McCrory, who is the main competition for State Sen. Fred Smith,
has for the last year talked a good conservative game by addressing the lawless conduct of black youths at Charlotte public street events and calling for a crackdown on gangs coming to North Carolina.

However, when the political curtain is lifted like in the Wizard of Oz, one becomes aware of the fact that McCrory has a disturbing record of embracing multiculturalism during his tenure as mayor.

A quick investigation of McCrory's background reveals his support of Diverso Global Strategies' chairwoman Astrid Chrinos.

Chirinos promotes an embrace of diversity and multiculturalism, particularly of Hispanics, and Pat McCrory wholeheartedly supported her efforts as the Illegal Alien Invasion hit Charlotte in the mid to late 1990’s.

Meanwhile, Carlos Sanchez, of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce and a McCrory staffer, documented how the mayor picked out a candidate for a City Council race.

The criteria was simple: the candidate had to be Hispanic just so they could have a voice in Charlotte.

"Pat McCrory can say he’s a conservative choice for governor when in reality he is North Carolina’s Rudy Giuliani without the dressing in drag, thank heaven for small miracles," said one GOP official.

Mayor McCrory -- who attempts to portray himself as Mr. Conservative -- at one point refused to allow the Charlotte police to enforce immigration law. Voters are urged to do more homework before considering casting their votes for McCrory. Why vote for a counterfeit conservative, when a real one such as Fred Smith is available?

Conservatives continue to tell North Carolinians that they simply cannot allow a RINO (Republican In Name Only) to slip past public detection and into the state's Chief Executive’s chair.

"This race is too important to our traditional North Carolina Values! We must put a true “Reaganâ€
